Transport
The
ASTRA model simulates the transport aspects by means of two classical
4-stage transport models, one for passenger and one for freight transport,
including endogenous reactions on all stages. Overall transport demand
(including non-motorised trips) is simulated. Even if a full O/D matrix
is not modelled, demand is segmented according to trip purpose and in
different distance bands to better consider competitiveness of alternative
modes. Information on the network capacity is considered for the different
transport modes.
ASTRA is able to simulate the impact on transport demand of polices like road charging, fuel taxation, public transport tariff changes.
Transport demand performance by mode for passenger and freight are among the main transport outputs provided.
